BACKGROUND


First founded in 1960, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival is now the world’s largest event dedicated to animation, attracting over 6,400 international visitors and industry professionals each year. Annecy 2010 will consist of International Animation Film Market (Mifa), the Creative Focus, professional conferences and competition. This year, the Festival will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in Annecy of France from 7 to 12 June 2010. The programme is suitable for professionals, teachers and students in the fields of film, animation, TV and multimedia.


Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Association (HKDEA) is organizing a Hong Kong Delegation of 30 members composed of industry representative and student to Annecy 2010. You are cordially invite to join the Delegation. This 8-day 5-night delegation aims to stimulate thoughts and creativity of our local animators via the enriched contents. It is also an ideal platform for promoting the Hong Kong-produced animation and to develop industry networks, both locally and internationally. ATTRACTIVE PROGRAMME

  • A total of 213 top-class animated films collected worldwide will be shown. The films are chosen from 1,942 international entries received from 67 countries. A wide range of films are available, which include feature film, short film, TV series, educational or industrial film, advertising film, music video, graduation film, and etc.
  • The International Animation Film Market (Mifa) on 9-11 June will bring together the industry practitioners in animation programming for TV, movies, video, VOD, the internet and mobile phones. Its prime aim is to facilitate collaborations between industry practitioners on future projects.
  • The Annecy conferences will touch on the challenges of the pictures industry and help to better anticipate changes from artistic, business and technological points of view. As such, a panel of international experts is invited to speak on topics like 3D-stereoscopic, special effects, financing and case studies.
  • Other interesting programmes are available, such as sneak previews, retrospectives on different subjects, behind-the-scene stories and making of.
