HK DE Graduate Support Scheme
As one of the core sectors of Hong Kong’s vibrant creative industries, the digital entertainment (DE) industry has been changing rapidly in the past few years. DE companies are more and more technology driven. The prevalence of social media and mobile platforms have driven new way of operation and development. It is not easy for companies to recruit new talents who can meet their technical needs and cope with the new business environment. On the other hand, it is also getting more and more difficult for fresh graduates to get a job in the industry since they normally lack the relevant trade experience which is an essential requirement by many DE companies.
The Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Association (HKDEA, the Organizer) is pleased to launch the 2nd Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Industry Fresh Graduate Support Scheme (Support Scheme) with staunch support and generous sponsorship from Create Hong Kong (CreateHK) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
The Support Scheme has the following objectives:
- – To subsidize and encourage local digital entertainment companies to employ and train fresh graduates and nurture the latter to become new blood of the industry;
- – To facilitate local fresh graduates in reaching potential employers for entering into the industry and be advised of the prospects in the digital entertainment industry; and
- – To foster the development of the digital entertainment industry with more abundant supply of digital talents working in the industry
- For graduates interested to develop your career in the digital entertainment industry, please complete a short Questionnaire to let us better understand your view.
Sponsored by the Create Hong Kong (CreateHK) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Association (HKDEA) is carrying out a survey of Hong Kong’s Digital Entertainment Industry (DE survey). The Center for Communication and Public Opinion Survey of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) has been commissioned by the HKDEA to conduct an independent questionnaire study and analysis for the DE survey. The collected information will strictly be used for statistical analysis of the entire industry, while the HKDEA does not have any access to the business data provided by individual respondents in the questionnaires, nor is the HKDEA able to identify the identity of any respondents of the questionnaires collected for the DE survey. The Center for Communication and Public Opinion Survey of the CUHK will keep the information provided by respondents of the questionnaires strictly confidential. The sectors of Digital Entertainment Industry to be covered in the DE survey are:
- Comic Industry
- Computer Animation Industry
- Game Industry
- Digital Effects Industry
- Interactive Design Industry
The questionnaire of the DE survey consists of two parts. The first part is to collect your company information which will be uploaded onto the said online directory. Once the information is published on the online directory, you or representative of your company will be issued with a password for entering the webpage in the online directory which is designated to your company for updating information therein. It is free of charge for posting your company’s information onto and updating the said information in the online directory.
For the second part of the questionnaire, it will collect information for analyzing the digital entertainment industry. As stated above, the Center for Communication and Public Opinion Survey of the CUHK will keep the information collected by the questionnaires strictly confidential. The HKDEA is not able to identify the identity of any respondents of the questionnaires, nor does it have access to the business data provided by individual respondents in the questionnaires.
We cordially invite your company to participate in the DE survey so that it could obtain more accurate information for further analysis. Should we have your kind agreement to participate in the DE survey, please fill in your company’s information by clicking the button for entering the questionnaire as said in the Chi version and submit it on or before 16 January 2016.
